lies vs the truth

I was thinking about the critics today.

You know, the one’s who say- “Why in the world would you adopt from China, when there are kids here that need homes.”

Or even the ones who say, “Why would you adopt a child? Those kids are crazy..”

(And yes, both of those have been said to us.. and they said more, but I will just keep it at that.)

And maybe I am just feeling a little angry that there are also people that think these are valid points/opinions?

It reminds me of my youth. I would spend my whole summer overseas on mission trips..There would always be someone who would say: “What are you going there for? There are people who need you here.” Those people felt confident saying that even though in the meantime they were essentially doing.. well, nothing.

I wish that those people didn’t bother me so much.

I know where their words are coming from… it’s not from God..

These words are from God,

Isaiah 5:20

Woe to those who call evil good
    and good evil,
who put darkness for light
    and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
    and sweet for bitter.

Isaiah 1:17

Learn to do good.
    Seek justice.
Help the oppressed.
    Defend the cause of orphans.
Fight for the rights of widows.

Galatians 6:9

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.

So, I am choosing to focus on truth..
