I remember listening to this song years ago, and it always made me cry. You can only imagine what emotions it evokes now (especially when watching the video, too!)
I honestly haven’t listened to this song in years, and decided to listen to it with the kids this morning after talking about Jude with them. About 30 seconds into the song, I realized that the tears were inevitable! But, surprisingly I bi-passed the “ugly cry” and managed to only have one or two tears (I didn’t want to scare the kids! 🙂 )
About 15 minutes later, while playing with their hot wheels race track, I overheard Jesse say to Ava, “Did you see Mommy cry a tear during that song?”
And she said,” Yeah buddy, it’s okay. She’s missin Jude.”
And then they just kept playing…
She’s right, so ready for him to be home.
*Had to laugh that during the video Ava said, “Man, I’m so thankful that Jude isn’t lost in the woods like those orphans!”
I know you’ve heard the stories
But they all sound too good to be true
You’ve heard about a place called home
But there doesn’t seem to be one for you
So one more night you cry yourself to sleep
And drift off to a distant dream
Where love takes you in and everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in
And somewhere while you’re sleeping
Someone else is dreaming too
Counting down the days until
They hold you close and say I love you
And like the rain that falls into the sea
In a moment what has been is lost in what will be
When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
And this love will never let you go
There is nothing that could ever
cause this love to lose its hold
When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in it takes you in for good

When love takes you in
Shew. What a song to help explain all the feelings you are having right now. Thanks for sharing Ava and Jesse’s sweet words as well.
